Patching Truck Operator

Based in URANA, but will work across the Federation Council area

  • FULL-TIME – 76 HOURS PER FORTNIGHT

The opportunity

As our Patching Truck Operator, you aren't just driving a vehicle; you are investing in our safer roads. Your day to day operations will involve construction and maintenance of; Roads, Bridges, footpaths and drainage. To operate Council’s Patching Truck and other plant from time to time, in a competent and efficient manner, and support the road maintenance and construction teams in their commitment to develop and maintain a safe and efficient road and transport network for Federation Council.

  • Expert Operation: Efficiently operating the Council’s patching truck and other construction plant to repair potholes, cracks, and seals.
  • Asset care: taking pride in your equipment through regular servicing, defect reporting, and maintaining a tidy workspace.
  • Precision & Safety: Implementing traffic management plans and completing digital logs to ensure every job is done right and safely.
  • Community Impact: Installing roadside furnishings like signs and guideposts to keep our drivers informed and safe

Essential key criteria

  • Hold a current and valid Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence
  • Hold a current and valid Loader Operators Certificate of Competency
  • Previous proven experience in operating a patching truck
  • Relevant experience and sound knowledge of sealed road construction and maintenance methods and materials
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative in solving problems, improving methods and productivity along with the ability to seek guidance and advice where required

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment.  The salary is commencing at $1242.40 per week with progression up to $1371.30 per week dependent upon skills and experience.
